Systeme.io Review (2026): The All-in-One That Takes 0% of Your Sales

Systeme.io Review (2026): The All-in-One That Takes 0% of Your Sales

Systeme.io promises to replace five subscriptions with one, starting at $17 a month — and unlike most all-in-one platforms, its free plan is a real plan rather than a trial. It also takes 0% of your sales on every tier, which is worth more than it sounds. The trade-off is design flexibility, and there is one free-plan limit that catches everybody. Here is the honest accounting.

The short version

Verdict: Systeme.io is the cheapest credible way for one person to run funnels, email, courses and an affiliate programme from a single login — and its free plan is a real plan, not a trial. It takes 0% of your sales on every tier, including free, which is the strongest financial argument on this page.

The catch: you pay for that in design flexibility. The page builder and the email editor are the most consistent complaints in its reviews, and there is no HTML control. If your brand lives or dies on how the page looks, this is not your tool.

Who it is for: freelancers, coaches, course creators and solo entrepreneurs who would rather have one $17 subscription that works than five that look better.

Who should skip it: anyone needing pixel control, HTML emails, a dedicated sending IP, native mobile apps, or the option to migrate out easily later.

Annual billing is “two months free” — ten times the monthly price.

Prices and the headline limits were checked on September 2, 2026 on systeme.io/pricing. The page renders its full comparison grid client-side, so prices, contacts, funnels, courses, blogs, domains and the “unlimited emails / unlimited storage / no transaction fees” claims are confirmed official, while the per-tier counts for automations, tags, funnel steps and A/B tests could not be read from the official page as text — treat those rows as indicative. Third-party pages still quoting Startup at $27 are out of date.

The 0% transaction fee is the real story

Systeme.io takes no cut of your sales on any plan. You pay only your payment processor — Stripe at roughly 2.9% + $0.30, or PayPal at about 3.49% + $0.49. Supported gateways include Stripe (with Apple Pay), PayPal, Mollie, GoCardless, Razorpay, Flutterwave, Mercado Pago, Xendit and Paystack.

Compare that with the alternatives: Teachable’s Starter plan takes 7.5% of every sale, and Kajabi takes up to 2% when you use a third-party processor. On $3,000 a month of course sales, Teachable Starter’s cut alone is $225 — more than a year of Systeme.io Startup.

What the free plan really gets you

This is not a 14-day trial. No card, no expiry: 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 1 blog with unlimited posts, 1 affiliate programme, 1 custom domain, unlimited email sends, unlimited file storage and 0% transaction fees.

Where it stops is not the contact count. It is 1 automation and 1 tag. With a single tag you cannot segment a list in any meaningful way — you cannot tag buyers separately from leads, or people who opened from people who did not. That single limit is what pushes people to the $17 plan, not running out of contacts.

Also worth knowing before you build: according to secondary sources your free pages and emails carry “Powered by systeme.io” branding that cannot be removed, and the API is limited to 30 requests a minute. Neither figure appears on the official pricing page, so treat both as unconfirmed — but assume the branding is there.

The honest summary: the free plan will genuinely launch and sell one offer. It will not run a segmented email list.

What it replaces, and what that saves

A solo creator on Startup at $17/month could plausibly cancel, at current official prices:

  • ClickFunnels Launch — $97/mo
  • Kit (ConvertKit) Creator — $33/mo
  • Teachable Builder — $89/mo (Starter is $39 but takes 7.5% of sales)
  • An affiliate tool and a webinar tool — typically $50–100/mo combined

That is roughly $220–320 a month of stacked subscriptions against $17–47 — somewhere near $2,400–3,400 a year, before the transaction-fee difference. This is the entire reason the product exists, and the maths holds up.

Systeme.io’s own comparison page makes similar claims but quotes Kajabi “from $69/mo” — Kajabi’s official floor is now $179/mo, so their figure is stale in their own favour. Ours uses current published prices.

Features, rated honestly

Everything is genuinely there: funnels with a drag-and-drop editor, email marketing and automation, course hosting with drip content and progress tracking, membership communities, a blog, affiliate programme management, evergreen webinars, A/B split tests, one-click upsells, order bumps, countdown timers, a CRM pipeline, physical products with inventory, a booking calendar and SMS in workflows.

The question is how good each one is.

  • Funnel and page builder — adequate, not best-in-class. This is the dominant complaint across both G2 and Capterra. G2 reviewers: “the design customization is still limited compared to dedicated builders.” Thirty-three G2 reviews specifically cite limited template customisation. Verified and real.
  • Templates — functional, dated. One G2 reviewer: “clean, but they aren’t going to blow anyone away.”
  • Email — excellent economics, weak tooling. Unlimited sends on every tier including free is genuinely rare. But reviewers report the editor is outdated and does not support HTML, and lacks a countdown timer.
  • Deliverability — you share an IP pool. Systeme.io’s own documentation confirms users sit in shared sending pools (Green, Yellow, Red, Quarantine, Gray) assigned by your bounce, spam and open rates, that new accounts start in a “New User Pool,” and that a 7–14 day warm-up is recommended for migrated lists. No dedicated IP and no custom SMTP option is documented. If email is the core of your business, this is the most important limitation on the page.
  • Courses and memberships — fine for a solo creator. Video lessons, drip scheduling, progress tracking. No native mobile app for your students.
  • Affiliate programme management — a genuine differentiator. Built in on every tier including free. Most rivals charge extra for this or do not offer it.
  • Webinars — evergreen only, and only from the $47 tier. There are no live webinars.
  • A/B testing — present but basic. Two variants only; no multivariate testing.
  • Forms and surveys are not listed as a distinct feature on the official features page.

Ratings and what reviewers complain about

SourceScoreReviews
G24.8/5750
Capterra4.8/52,129

Capterra breaks down as ease of use 4.6, customer service 4.8, value for money 4.9, features 4.7, with 90% saying they would recommend it. Those are unusually strong numbers for the category. (We could not verify a Trustpilot score — Trustpilot blocks automated access — so we are not quoting one.)

The recurring complaints, in order of frequency:

  1. Builder and design flexibility. The dominant criticism on both platforms.
  2. Template design — clean but unremarkable.
  3. Email editor depth — no HTML, dated interface, missing countdown timers.
  4. Learning curve — 30 G2 reviews. The breadth overwhelms new users, though most say they adapted.
  5. Support inconsistency. Praised overall — 106 G2 reviews cite support as a pro — but ten report poor experiences, concentrated around migrations.
  6. Migration failures. One Capterra reviewer reported a nine-month migration delay with a refund refused. Another was uncomfortable handing over passwords to an unknown person.
  7. Image quality — reviewers report the optimiser producing visibly pixelated images.

What it cannot do

  • No native mobile app for you or your students. Web only.
  • No dedicated sending IP and no custom SMTP. Your deliverability rides a shared pool.
  • No live webinars — evergreen only.
  • No real design control. No HTML in emails, and a constrained page builder.
  • Migration out is genuinely hard. Funnels, courses and automations are proprietary and not portable. Free migration in requires the Unlimited monthly plan or any annual plan, takes 2–5 business days for a simple setup or 1–2 weeks for a complex one, and your payment history stays with your old processor. Getting out later is a rebuild. Export limits are not documented anywhere official.

That last point is the one to weigh seriously. The lock-in is the price of the bundle.

How it compares on price

If email is the only thing you need, Kit’s free tier goes to 10,000 subscribers and its editor is far better. Systeme.io wins when you need the whole stack.

Who should buy which plan

Free — validating one offer, one lead magnet, one course. Genuinely sufficient to make your first sale. Expect the branding and the one-tag ceiling.

Startup ($17, or $170/year) — the right answer for almost every working freelancer or coach. Real segmentation with 10 tags and 10 automations, 10 funnels, 5 courses. Paying annually also unlocks free migration.

Webinar ($47) — only if evergreen webinars are genuinely your selling mechanism, or you have passed 5,000 contacts.

Unlimited ($97) — large lists, where it beats Kit and Klaviyo badly on cost above roughly 15,000 contacts, or if you want sub-accounts.

Who should skip it

Anyone whose brand depends on page design. Anyone needing HTML emails or pixel control. Anyone sending deliverability-critical volume who needs a dedicated IP. Anyone whose audience expects a mobile app. And anyone who thinks they may want to move platforms later — the rebuild cost is real.

How to test it this weekend

  1. Sign up for the free plan. Systeme.io free plan → No card, no expiry.
  2. Build one funnel for an offer you already have. Do not redesign your brand while learning a new builder.
  3. Send yourself a test email and check whether it lands in the inbox or in Promotions. That answers the deliverability question for your own domain better than any review can.
  4. Try to make one page match your existing brand. If you cannot get close in 30 minutes, you have your answer about the design ceiling.
  5. Set up the affiliate programme, even if you have no affiliates yet. It is the feature competitors charge extra for and it is worth seeing.
  6. Only pay when you hit the one-tag wall — which will happen the first time you want to email buyers separately from leads.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Systeme.io free plan really free?

Yes, permanently, with no card required: 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, 1 course, 1 blog, unlimited emails and 0% transaction fees. The practical limit is 1 automation and 1 tag, which prevents real list segmentation.

Does Systeme.io take a percentage of my sales?

No. 0% on every plan including free. You pay only your payment processor’s fee — around 2.9% + $0.30 with Stripe.

Is the page builder good?

It is the weakest part of the product and the most common complaint in its reviews. It works, and it is fast, but design customisation is limited compared with a dedicated builder like ClickFunnels or a website tool like Framer.

Can I move my funnels and courses out later?

Not easily. Funnels, courses and automations are proprietary and non-portable, so leaving means rebuilding. Free migration into Systeme.io exists on annual or Unlimited plans; there is no equivalent going the other way.

Systeme.io or Kit for email?

Kit, if email is all you need — its editor is better and its free tier goes to 10,000 subscribers. Systeme.io, if you also need funnels, a course, a checkout and an affiliate programme, because running all of that in one place for $17 is not something Kit can do.

How we reviewed this

We checked Systeme.io’s official pricing page, features page, payment documentation, deliverability help articles and migration terms on September 2, 2026, and cross-referenced ratings and recurring complaints on G2 and Capterra. Competitor prices come from each vendor’s own current pricing page. Figures the official pricing page does not expose as text — per-tier automation, tag and A/B test counts, free-plan branding and API rate limits — are flagged as indicative or unverified in the text rather than asserted. We could not verify a Trustpilot score because Trustpilot blocks automated access.

Some links in this review are affiliate links: if you subscribe through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Systeme.io pays one of the highest recurring rates in the category, which is exactly why we have been explicit about the design ceiling, the shared email IPs and the difficulty of leaving.
